Sorry I won't be in class today. You have three tasks to complete:
1) Finish the quiz that will be provided by the substitute. It is open note. You have 20 minutes.
2) When finished, go back over your notes from the Foner sections that you've read (222-242) and ANNOTATE them by linking them to the specific goals set forth in the Preamble to the Constitution (for example, in your notes about the Lewis and Clark's journeys, you may make an annotation that indicates that they are "promoting the general welfare").
3) With the first Presidential Debate happening tonight, it's important to pause and take stock of what we know about the election. Please take the last part of class and complete as many of the tasks listed in this document that you can. After Activity #1, feel free to browse the others to decide what to read. You don't need to go in order.
If you have time tonight, I encourage you to watch the Presidential Debate. It will be on all major channels from 8-9:30 P.M.
